Hello all MAES members,

The upcoming events for this week are listed below. If you would like to donate or volunteer for any of these events, please contact an officer.

Tuesday, August 31 = We are having a Fajita taco sale in front of the engineering building from 10 AM till whenever they sell out.

Wednesday, September 1 = The first MAES general meeting will be taking place at UTSA in the BSB 3.02.02 at the Loefller room. Please join  us at 3:30 PM and meet members, get information for symposium, and go over what is next for the new year. And please feel free to bring your friends!

Friday, September 3 = A back to school pool party will be hosted by MAES. This social will have tons of free pizza and drinks by the poolside and an opportunity for volleyball matches.

Also this day is the deadline for early registration for Symposium. After this day the prices will go up.

September 8 = Is another general meeting at the same place and time.

September 11 = All scholarship applications are due.

September 15= MAES General Meeting

September 22= MAES General Meeting

September 29- October 3 = MAES Symposium in Anaheim, California.

The National MAES Symposium will be held in Anaheim, California at the Hilton Anaheim hotel. The dates are for September 29 to October 2, so be sure to tell your professors ahead of time! It will offer a great experience to connect to peers in Engineering and Science from around the country and meet with professionals. There is a decathlon competition that is available for students to compete in, which winners can win money. Scholarships are available but make sure to apply by the deadline, look at the scholarship tabs for more information.

In order to register for Symposium you must register for MAES National and become a memeber. You can register at the MAES national site, under “new user” located in the sign in box on the right hand side.

The deadline for early registration is September 3, with fees at 125 dollars, and after it goes up to 175. The last day to register is September 17. To register also do so so from the MAES national website. It is located under “registration” on the left side menu.
